New research (Shao et al., Mapping
Chromosome 15q11-q13 in Autism. Am. J. Hum. Genet.,
72:539-548, 2003) indicates increased linkage evidence for the 15q11-q13
region, with receptors' subunit genes of GABA (GABRB3), in Autistic
Disorders.
In my
theoretical introduction to drug therapy in Autism, (autism7.htm) I pointed out
GABA as the main brain neurotransmitter involved in that disorder.
